In the year of 1675 the small village of Torsaker, Sweden became infamous. Infamous for being the location of the largest single mass killing of accused witchery in history. Beheaded, stripped, placed on stakes and burned; seventy one innocent souls lost their lives to fear, bigotry, and hatred. The village people, friends and family member of six men and sixty-five women, turned their backs and let evil, in the form of Priest Laurentius C.H., guide their actions. One year later, Swedish authorities declared all witches to have been removed from Sweden and a secret society was born. In hopes to atone for their blind faith, indifference, and intolerance, it based itself on the very magic that ignorance attempted to stamp out. The sole responsibility of these members was to ensure that history never repeated itself. That no man, woman, or child; innocent or guilty, would go unprotected or undefended from bigotry. They would call themselves, The Witches Guardian’s Alliance.

The Book That Must Not Be Named

The title of this book must not be revealed. The pages within not read. The words on it’s cover never spoken. Too many lives are at stake and too many souls from the past tormented. The Witches Guardian’s Alliance has decreed that Astrid Martin, the book’s author and a witch herself, shall be silenced. Swede, Minnesota resident, and top agent with the alliance known for his ability to put an end to any problem, Max Gunther, has been given the task. There is however another problem, Max’s instincts. Why would a witch turn on her own people; divulging their secrets, revealing how to find them, and how to kill them? How can this modern day witch have a connection to a crime that happened in 1675? Why is it that the more he digs into her past the most his past is revealed?

The Heart in His Art

What do…A Swedish mad man with a mysterious black glove, a sledgehammer, a cosplay convention, stole artwork, missing parents, vortices and other realms, a mysterious Egyptian, a witch…several actually, and lullabies, have in common? Summer Sky has no idea! She just wants to make a lullaby album that even adults would listen to when they need comfort, but life just doesn’t seem to line up the way she envisions. All it would take is for her to help the mad man, when just happens to be extremely attractive, then get the stole artwork. Then she could use her own witchy powers to get the identity of the other witches, find out about these other realms, and find the missing parents. Of course there’s also the cosplay convention, who knew that was a thing? The weird Egyptian that tends to randomly appear just when he’s needed. Her dilapidated car is an issue, as is the friendly mechanic that is getting a little too friendly. Finally, if she could just get her minimum wage job at the hospital gift shop to not fire her for a few more days…then…maybe? Maybe she could just sit down and sing her lullabies…simple?!
